Robert Faurisson was a French revisionist and a famous scholar. He studied French, Latin and Greek literature. He earned his doctorate and worked as a professor of French literature at the Sorbonne, and later at the University of Lyon.
In 1960 he spent fourteen years at the Centre de documentation juive contemporaine in Paris, analyzing and gathering documents and he had personally interviewed witnesses. He conducted field investigations when he visited Auschwitz, Birkenau and other camps.
In an article about Faurisson Christian Lindtner describes his methods thusly:
In 1978 he went public with his belief that the gas chambers in Auschwitz did not exist. After that Faurisson become a target. Wikipedia has a whole section on this as if they want you to know there are consequences for denying the Holocaust.
Faurisson suffered from more than a broken jaw when he was attacked in 1989 and was nearly killed:

These legal and violent attacks never broke Faurisson’s spirit, though, he stayed true to his convictions until the end. In fact, in 2016 he received another guilty verdict which immediately appealed.
To end things on a happy note I suggest you watch this video of Robert Faurisson with comedian Dieudonné M’bala M’bala.
see Christian Lindtner on Faurisson as mentioned in the above.

I have never heard of Christian Lindtner. He sounds like a Holocaust affirmer from the bit of video I listened to. Do you know the timestamp of where he talks about Faurisson?
Christian Lindtner was a close to Zundel and Faurisson etc, a longtime revisionist-you have mentioned him above. Faurisson was discussed for the first 30 minutes or-so.
Professor Lindtner was a scholar where Faurisson would dismiss and keep avoiding works that contradicted his views. Lindtner, Cole and Hunt openly lay Faurisson’s poor standards in misleading the likes of Ursula Haverbeck who keeps going into court and mindlessly repeating Faurisson’s old slogans for which she keep receiving her sentences.

Hear Lindtner on his attempts at correcting Faurisson and how disinterested he was to even being presented with new information.
Oh right, I forgot that I sourced an article by Lindtner.
Faruisson’s work is not free from issues. As this article on CoDoH illustrates.

This however does not take away from the pioneering work he has done for revisionism. The purpose of academics is is to build upon what has come before and sometimes you find the pioneers to be incorrect. When that happens you update your knowledge base and move on. Unlike orthodox Holocaust historians who keep doubling down on things that have been shown to be impossible.
That’s a nice assertion you made about Ursula Haverbeck. It makes more sense that she just doesn’t believe in the Holocaust, which is not unreasonable at all.
