Vrba’s Unbelievable Story Part Three

Part 1, Part 2

In part two we left off talking about the Auschwitz Report that Vrba and Wetzler authored and the problem with the drawing of the alleged gas chamber from the report. Today I will finish addressing the claims made in George Mack’s tweet thread.

Here Mack repeats a quote from Churchill. The full quote, made on a broadcast on November 14 of 1941, according the the BBC is: “There is no doubt this is the most horrible crime ever committed in the whole history of the world, and it has been done by scientific machinery by nominally civilised men in the name of a great State and one of the leading races of Europe. It is quite clear that all concerned in this crime who may fall into our hands, including the people who only obeyed orders by carrying out the butcheries, should be put to death after their association with the murders has been proved.” Think about this. Churchill is supposedly basing this statement on a report from two men that allegedly escaped from Auschwitz. Two men that had every reason to lie about the Germans. Churchill didn’t even wait for any sort of investigation or verification of Vrba and Wetzler’s claims before deciding that the Germans committed the ‘most horrible crime in the history of the world’ and condemning all those involved to death. This reveals the incredible amount of bias Churchill had towards the German people. Is it so crazy to think that he would have been all too willing to go along with, or even help create, the false narrative of the Holocaust?

In the next tweet Mack states that Vrba’s ‘high agency’ saved an estimated 200,000 lives. Let’s look into this estimate. According to Wikipedia, “Approximately 320,000 Hungarian Jews are estimated to have been murdered at Auschwitz-Birkenau before July 1944.^[80] On 8 July, the deportation of Jews from Hungary had stopped due to international pressure by the Pope, the King of Sweden, and the Red Cross.” According to the Holocaust Encyclopedia, on November 25, 1944, Himmler ordered the destruction of the buildings that housed the alleged homicidal gas chambers. According to Wikipedia there were 140,000 Jews in Hungary after the war. Apparently the estimate of Jews saved by Vrba’s report assumes all of the Jews that hadn’t been deported out of Hungary by July of 1944 would have been deported and gassed during the 5 months between July and November. I’m not sure how the extra 60,000 Jews saved comes from.

One thing I wonder is that, if the Nazis were determined to murder all European Jews, why did they let pressure from the Vatican, Sweden’s King and the Red Cross to stop deportations from Hungary?

Next, Mack reveals that Vrba’s given name was Walter Rosenberg and that he had changed it in case he was ever captured by Nazis again. Vrba joined the Slovak partisans, not army (Slovak was under Nazi control), in September, 1944. This was about 4 months after his alleged escape.

Interesting side note. While reading the Wikipedia entry on Vrba I came across this bit of information; “…he [Vrba] found work as a labourer and continued his studies at home, particularly chemistry, English and Russian.^[22] He met his future wife, Gerta Sidonová, around this time; she had also been excluded from school.^[23]“ What about the tweet from part one where Mack said, “When Vrba was 19, he lost his virginity in Auschwitz to Alice Munk The next day Alice was killed in the gas chambers. It’s impossible to fathom Vrba’s level of heartbreak.” Did Alice (assuming Alice even existed) know about Greta? Did Greta know about Alice! Vrba’s book about his escape, that included the story about Alice, was published in 1964, several years after Vrba and Greta’s marriage was over.

Moving on.

The following two tweets from Mack talk about Vrba’s success after the war. This is the case for many Holocaust survivors. Vrba enjoyed the privilege of being able to write books and make all sorts of incredible claims that no one was allowed to question. Mack goes on to say that Vrba was extremely well dressed for the rest of his life after the war. I wonder how many fancy sport jackets reparations from Germany bought him.

Most of the information in Mack’s tweet thread comes from a book Vrba wrote called, Escape from Auschwitz : I cannot forgive. In 1985 at the first Zundel trial, Vrba testified that his book “… should not be considered as a document, but as an artistic picture of the events…”

I can’t blame Mack for presenting Vrba’s tale as true. Considering that the following image is the cover for the edition of the book being sold on Amazon. As you can see they removed the ‘I cannot forgive bit’ (see second image below). In bold red letters the newer cover proclaims the book is THE SHOCKING TRUE STORY. Vrba’s admission about the book being an ‘artistic portrayal’ isn’t well known, so why would the average person under the spell of Holocaust affirming conditioning question anything that he says? I’ll be straight with you, I knew about this book being ‘an artistic portrayal of events’ the whole time. I took the story at face value because they want you to take the story at face value. And scanning through the comments from Mack’s tweet thread you can see that most people took the story at face value and ate up every word. Thus the Holocaust affirming circle of lies rolls on.

Mack ends the tweet thread by saying Vrba’s story should be a movie and then he promotes his website. However, in 2021, The Auschwitz Report, was released in Slovakia. It was selected as the Slovak entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards. Did Mack not look for movies about Vrba or are Slovakian movies not good enough for Mack? According to an article from the Jewish Telegraph Agency written in 2021, “At least 440 narrative films have been made about the Holocaust.” That number doesn’t include television shows, books and magazine articles. Entertainment product is a great venue for Holocaust affirming that is super effective.

Considering all the information I have found and presented about the matter, I am of the opinion that Vrba’s daring tale of escape and subsequent horror report of Auschwitz was a propaganda stunt. A stunt that served its purpose during the war (atrocity propaganda against the German people) and that is still serving a purpose today (Holocaust affirmation through an exciting and compelling story).

Just a little lesson for you, Mack. Living a life of high agency isn’t always a good thing, especially when the high agency person is a scheming liar.
