In 1945 the US Army released a 72 page report on Dachau. About this report Wikipedia says, “Although it contains some errors, the report is considered one of the first studies on the Nazi concentration camps.” It is important to note that Dachau is not classified as an extermination camp by orthodox Holocaust historians.
Included in this report are claims about the use of homicidal gas chambers. These claims are not substantiated by any other sources. At the end of the second paragraph the author of this Wikipedia article states that Holocaust deniers use these incorrect reports to falsely claim that Nazis didn’t systemically murder Jews. This is clearly an attempt to distract from the significance of the inaccuracies of the reports. The fact that incorrect reports and narrative changes like this exist is all the more reason open discussion about the Holocaust should be encouraged and not demonized. Why is this Wikipedia author running cover for the US Army anyway?

Another thing that makes this incorrect report significant is the fact that the US Army played a major role in presenting Dachau, and other camps they liberated, to the public. The following is from an article in Time from May 7, 1945 where the Army’s report of the gas chamber was published for the masses.
Knowing that the US Army made inaccurate claims why should we trust that they found railway cars full of dead bodies and that the scene was not staged?
Are we supposed to be shocked that there would be human remains inside a crematory oven when the purpose of a crematory oven is to cremate human remains? In fact Holocaust Encyclopedia has 4 pictures out of 16 that are of the crematorium on their Dachau photograph page. This seems like an attempt to assert that it’s sinister for a crematorium to exist. They don’t like to point out the fact that the Germans used of crematoriums curb the spread of deadly diseases like typhus. They don’t like to point out the fact that these ovens were clearly designed for individual cremation and not mass incineration.
It wouldn’t be very difficult to pile up a bunch of clothing and then come up with a reason why a pile of clothing is malicious.
Here we have a photograph from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum where they are still maintaining that there was a gas chamber in Dachau but it was never used. How exactly do they know this? Read this article to find that and out what this room really was.
