Orthodox Holocaust historians claims that the alleged 33,771 victims of of the alleged Babi Yar massacre who were buried in a ravine were later exhumed and cremated. Holocaust Denial on Trial, or HDoT, misrepresents Carlo Mattogno’s argument against this claim by reducing it to the unreliable witness testimony of Vladimir K. Davidov. Keep in mind that no where in this article is the mention of any sort of physical evidence. Nothing is mentioned about how they operation was or wasn’t logistically possible. Once again the narrative relies on witnesses.
HDoT makes reference to Treblinka—Extermination Camp or Transit Camp? If you read what Mattogno wrote you can see that he said that Davidov was the only witness who claimed to have participated in the cremation of bodies. Mattogno did not state that Davidov was the sole witness to the whole event.
HDot lists the rest list of witnesses, Vladimir Davydov, Jakov Steyuk, Vadislav Kuklia, Jakov Kaper, David Budnik, Ziama Trubakov, Seymen Berlyant, Leonid Ostrowsky, Yosif Doliner, and Isaac Brodsky, along with alleged perpetrator, Paul Blöbel. In Mattogno’s book, The Einsatzgruppen in the Occupied Eastern Territories—Genesis, Missions and Actions, you can see that all of the witnesses HDoT named are discussed.
Let’s go back to the Treblinka book where HDoT claims Mattogno’s only argument is about the one witness. In the paragraphs immediately following the one referenced Mattogno makes several valid points about things like the amount of firewood needed and the labor involved, all of which is not evident in the aerial photos taken one week after the cremation was alleged to have been done (to see the aerial photos for yourself check out pages 153-156 of Air-Photo Evidence—World War Two Photos of Alleged Mass Murder Sites Analyzed).
The remainder of the HDoT article recounts the testimony of the witnesses that Mattogno supposedly, but did not actually, denied the existence of. They are careful to leave out any contradictory or implausible claims. Listing all the contradictions and absurdities here would deny me of providing you with a short and easily digestible article which is my sworn duty. If you would like to know the details of these testimonies the pages to read from The Einsatzgruppen in the Occupied Eastern Territories—Genesis, Missions and Actions, are 527-547, 552-556. In conclusion, HDoT has once again misrepresented a Holocaust revisionist argument in order to knock down their own strawman. What they have revealed in doing so is an reliance on witness testimony and a lack of physical evidence.
Up next is Babi Yar and Physical Evidence.
